{"id":5935,"date":"2025-01-22T10:09:10","date_gmt":"2025-01-22T15:09:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/oor\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=5935"},"modified":"2025-01-22T10:09:10","modified_gmt":"2025-01-22T15:09:10","slug":"bridge-funding-applications-due-2","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/oor\/event\/bridge-funding-applications-due-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Bridge Funding Applications Due"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bridge funding applications are typically accepted 3 times during the academic year.\u00a0 A memo is sent to Department Chairs to share with their faculty giving specific due dates.<\/p>\n<p><b>The most recent memo\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/oor\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/580\/2024\/12\/SOM-Bridge-Funding-January-2025.pdf\">can be found here<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The grant has been reviewed and received a written critique<\/li>\n<li>The PI has no more than 2 active R01s or the equivalent level of funding<\/li>\n<li>The PI does not have more than $50k of additional sources of lab support, e.g. trust fund, startup, retention, royalties.<\/li>\n<li>If the grant\u2019s NIH number identifies the grant as a \u2018new\u2019 grant, the PI must include a cover letter explaining how the new grant is a repackaged version of previously funded research<\/li>\n<li>The grant under consideration must be administered in an SOM unit<\/li>\n<li>The department\/center agrees to match the funding from the Dean\u2019s Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The application for bridge funding much include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cover letter<\/li>\n<li>letter of support<\/li>\n<li>current 3-4 page NIH biosketch<\/li>\n<li>publications<\/li>\n<li>research section of the original grant application<\/li>\n<li>the NIH review of that application<\/li>\n<li>a draft rebuttal for the revised application<\/li>\n<li>proposed budget for the bridge funds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please direct questions and email your applications to Jen Brennan at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:OoR_Submissions@med.unc.edu\">OoR_Submissions@med.unc.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bridge funding applications are typically accepted 3 times during the academic year.\u00a0 A memo is sent to Department Chairs to share with their faculty giving specific due dates.
