Dr. Sinthu Ranjan is a Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and a board-certified ophthalmologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ranjan specializes in corneal transplantation including PK, DSEK, and DMEK. She also has expertise in both routine and complex cataract surgery, intraocular lens exchange, as well as complex anterior segment surgery. Her clinical practice is built on providing high quality, personalized care for every patient she treats.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining UNC, Dr. Ranjan completed her ophthalmology residency at Loyola University Medical Center. There she developed a broad ophthalmologic skill set. She supplemented this training by completing her Cornea and External Disease Fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital in NYC where she excelled in the clinical and surgical management of corneal disease. Prior to her training in ophthalmology Dr. Ranjan graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University, and received her MD from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ranjan\u2019s research interests are focused on the advancement of patient outcomes in corneal disease. Her primary interest is in quality improvements for corneal transplantation, with secondary interests in infectious keratitis.<\/p>\n

Outside of work, Dr. Ranjan can often be found trying the latest Triangle restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her family.<\/p>\n
