UNC Ophthalmology is thrilled to recognize Senior Resident (PGY4) Luke Ford, MD<\/strong>, for being named UNC Hospitals Hillsborough (HBH) campus “Surgeon Surgical Star of the Month” by APP staff peers. <\/span>Each month, HBH campus perioperative and anesthesia care team members select a surgeon on their patient care team who demonstrates excellence as a role model and team-oriented partner in delivering patient care. Notably, Dr. Ford is the first-ever resident <\/em><\/strong>to be chosen for this honor.\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0An exceptional UNC Ophthalmology senior resident and surgeon in training, Dr. Ford was commended for his exemplary qualities as a learner and team member, including his drive to learn two ophthalmic surgical devices (Constellation and Centurion Vision Systems) that improve patient outcomes by increasing surgical precision and efficiency.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

UNC Ophthalmology Vice Chair and Associate Professor\u00a0David Fleischman, MD, MS, FACS,\u00a0<\/strong>serves as UNC Hillsborough Perioperative Medical Director. He noted:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
