UNC Orthopaedics faculty are actively engaged in clinical research to investigate new devices and drugs, to review clinical outcomes, and to assess how treatments impact health populations. This research directly engages our patient and gives them access to participate in new treatments or contribute to medical knowledge is a great benefit of being a patient at UNC.
UNC has significant infrastructure to support clinical trials research and through our department resources and relationships we are able to effectively implement complex research trials, and to effectively recruit patients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
