This innovation uses bioprinting technology to crease new tissue from the patient&#8217;s own cells. The team have successfully generated meniscus tissue that could one day be used as an alternative treatment for patients with cartilage damage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wral.com\/unc-nc-state-scientists-work-together-to-print-human-body-tissues\/18353850\/\">WRAL article<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Jeffrey Spang is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at UNC-Chapel Hill.
