Dr. Melissa Miller and her colleagues at UNC Hospitals have been recognized by the national media for working around the clock to develop a rapid COVID-19 test. The story aired on the “Today” show on NBC on March 19, 2020. Dr. Miller is Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UNC and Director of the Clinical Microbiology and Molecular Microbiology Laboratories at UNC Hospitals.
Dr. Susan Weiss, one of our faculty members in Transfusion Medicine, was recently interviewed regarding development of a COVID-19 antibody treatment therapy. The interview aired on ABC 11, WTVD during the 11:00 news.
Dr. John Schmitz and Dr. David Wohl of UNC were highlighted in an NPR story on a new approach to improve antibody testing for coronavirus. Dr. Schmitz is Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UNC and Director of the Immunology Laboratory at UNC Hospitals.
