Dr. Strickland received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she also completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency as well as her gynecologic pathology fellowship. She spent four years at Northwstern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she was an assistant professor and subspecialized in gynecologic and perinatal pathology. While there, she was also the medical director of the immunohistochemistry laboratory at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a co-chair of the Department’s Quality Committee. She is thrilled to return to the South and join the Tarheel family!
Dr. Strickland’s primary research interest revolves around biomarkers of gynecologic malignancies, particularly endometrial neoplasia. She also has research interest and experience in quality and lab management.
