Cherise is a PhD student studying Triple Negative Breast Cancer heterogeneity and plasticity in the Perou Lab in Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Cherise received her undergraduate degrees in Nutritional Biochemistry and Classics at University of California, Davis, and her master’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Cambridge, UK. In between her master’s degree and starting at UNC, she worked simultaneously as a Clinical Embryologist at Northern California Fertility Medical Center and as an Adjunct Professor of Nutrition at Los Rios Community College. In addition to her work in the lab, Cherise is an avid dancer and playwright. She is passionate about women’s health research, precision medicine, theatre arts, ballet, teaching, and her family.
