Dr. Alexandra Balaban is a board-certified pathologist with specialized expertise in surgical and breast pathology. She earned her B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computational Biology from Duke University and her M.D. from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She also completed a Cancer and Genomics training grant in biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She went on to complete her pathology residency at Duke University Hospital, followed by a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital with a focus on breast and gynecologic pathology, a Cytopathology Fellowship at Duke, and advanced Breast\/Gynecology Surgical Pathology fellowship training at Duke.<\/p>\n
Dr. Balaban has an active record of research, publications, and teaching, with experience educating medical students and residents and contributing to national meetings.
