Join PBTS as a volunteer at the UNC Science Expo\u00a0on Saturday, April 5th, 2025!<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udccd <strong>Where:<\/strong>\u00a0Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, Chapel Hill, NC<br \/>\n\ud83d\udd58 <strong>When:<\/strong>\u00a011:00 AM &#8211; 4:00 PM (Volunteers can sign up for 1 hour shifts from 10:00am to 5:00pm)<\/p>\n<p>This family-friendly event is part of the North Carolina Science Festival\u00a0and offers interactive exhibits, demonstrations, and hands-on activities for all ages. Volunteers play a crucial role in creating an engaging and educational experience for attendees. Ambassadors play a key role in connecting with students, sharing the latest in DNA research, and sparking interest in STEM fields.<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udcc5 When:\u00a0April 25, 2025 (other dates are also possible)<br \/>\n\ud83d\udccd Where:\u00a0High schools across North Carolina<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The short:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;ll be matched with an NC high school science teacher<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>You get to visit their science classroom in late April<\/li>\n<li>Teach a hands-on, exciting lesson about genetics and\u00a0DNA <strong>(all materials provided!)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Tell high school kids about why you love science and your research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All teaching materials and a gas card to reimburse you for travel is included<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>A science communication training workshop is included for all scientist volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>Boost your CV with valuable teaching and broader impact experience!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For more info about NC DNA Day and to sign up, go to: <a href=\"http:\/\/ncdnaday.org\/sign-up\/ambassadors\/\" data-outlook-id=\"e3517e3c-96a3-43d3-8f49-5589f49b2050\">http:\/\/ncdnaday.org\/sign-up\/ambassadors\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Interested in inspiring future scientists?
