We are thrilled to announce official launch of the WHMC “Hot Topic” Seminar Series<\/strong>, a monthly event curated by the WHMC Planning Commitee and supported by the Center for Women’s Health Research and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. These seminars are designed to bring together clinical and basic science faculty, fellows, residents, postdocs, staff, graduate and medical students, and undergraduates from across UNC, with the intention of building awareness of the broad array of research in the UNC community that intersects with improving women’s health and providing an environment for forming new collaborations and training opportunities for trainees.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Our first seminar\u00a0will be a<\/strong>\u00a0joint keynote address\u00a0by<\/strong>\u00a0Dr. Wendy Brewster\u00a0<\/strong>(Director of the Center for Women’s Health Research)\u00a0and\u00a0Dr. Russell Broaddus\u00a0<\/strong>(Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine)\u00a0on October 11th, 2021 from 12-1pm.\u00a0<\/strong>This keynote seminar will mark the official start of the WHMC with a focus on the\u00a0current state of women’s health research and the importance of inter- and multi-disciplinary collaborations in advancing research efforts in women’s health. The seminar will include a panel discussion with the speakers to encourage robust discussion with the audience.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This will be a\u00a0hybrid seminar<\/strong>, with the opportunity to attend either\u00a0in-person with limited capacity<\/strong>\u00a0and spaced-out seating in Bondurant G100,\u00a0or virtually by Zoom\u00a0<\/strong>(Zoom link\u00a0here<\/strong><\/a>). For those interested in attending in-person,\u00a0please fill out this\u00a0Google Form<\/a>\u00a0to secure your in-person spot.\u00a0<\/strong>These seminars are\u00a0open to everyone<\/strong>, please feel free to share with others that may be interested.<\/p>\n
