Dr. Kistler completed a clinical research fellowship through the Doris Duke Clinical Research Foundation during medical school. She obtained a master’s degree in applied science from the UCSF Advanced Training in Clinical Research program. She has also finished a Faculty Development program in Health Literacy and Aging by the Carolina Geriatrics Education Center.
Dr. Kistler’s area of interest is decision-making around the care of older adults, particularly the appropriateness of their care. Her research has focused primarily on preventive services such as cancer screening and tobacco cessation, and around infection control.
