Application Phase
We are excited to have you with us and look forward to a rich learning experience for all involved. You will be training at one of the following four sites: NC Children’s Hospital at UNC Chapel Hill, Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, WakeMed in Raleigh or CMC in Charlotte. Course information and details can be found on Sakai.
The varied activities of this rotation have been designed to allow you to meet these learning objectives of the block in a meaningful and enjoyable way. We, as a faculty, are committed to helping you reach these goals to the best of our ability. To be successful, however, students must organize their time to provide an appropriate balance between clinical activities and independent learning through reading and study. Other essentials are a cooperative, enthusiastic and compassionate attitude; responsibility; a demonstrated interest in patient care; intellectual motivation; and a systematic, organized approach to clinical problems.
Individualization Phase
The Individualization Phase is the third and final phase of medical school education. During these 14 months, students will develop individual core clinical interests and skills with a focus on future career plans. Student have many options to individualize their learning experience based on their Individualized Learning Plan, their career goal interests and their unique needs for clinical skill development.
The various rotations within Pediatrics have been designed to allow you to explore and finalize your career interests and clinical skill sets required for residency.
