Asantewaa was born in Sumter, SC, completing her undergraduate work in Biology at Wofford College. She knows that her training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics will prepare her to periodically return to her parents’ home in Ghana, West Africa to volunteer in hospitals there. She is interested in following obese children into adulthood and gain a deeper understanding of socioeconomic factors affecting patients’ health and how best to address them.

Experiencing different cultures through food, music, and dance; especially salsa.
