Each year, more than 70,000 children from all 100 North Carolina counties come to UNC for over 200,000 visits for diagnosis and treatment. The Children\u2019s Hospital serves as the primary teaching facility for our residents. Residents rotate at the flagship hospital, Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in the 18-bed pediatric inpatient unit and also at the Cone Health Tim &amp; Carolynn Rice Center for Child &amp; Adolescent Health. Our residents have had the pleasure of rotating at Cone for the last 40 years. Located in Raleigh, WakeMed is a 760-bed private, not-for-profit health care system. The <span class=\"external-link\">Children\u2019s Hospital <\/span>with 25 inpatient rooms and 12 observation rooms opened in 2010; there are over 143,000 admissions a year. In addition to providing care to the children of Wake County, WakeMed serves as a referral hospital servicing many of the surrounding counties.
