The deadline for applications is November 1st.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Criteria for All Applicants:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Three letters of recommendation<\/li>\n<li>USMLE Transcript<\/li>\n<li>MSPE<\/li>\n<li>Personal Statement<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vitae<\/li>\n<li>Passing USMLE Step 1\/COMLEX Level 1 result at the time of application<\/li>\n<li>Passing USMLE Step 2 CK\/COMLEX Level 2 CE result at the time of Rank List submission<\/li>\n<li>Due to the suspension of testing, submission of USMLE Step 2 CS\/COMLEX Level 2 PE scores are waived<\/li>\n<li>For International or Foreign Medical Graduates:\n<ul>\n<li>ECFMG certification is required by the time of rank list submission<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/pediatrics\/education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1116\/2018\/08\/visa-policy.pdf\">UNC Hospitals supports the J-1 visa<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>In addition to the above, applicants should meet the following criteria:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduation from medical school no more than two prior to application year<\/li>\n<li>Clinical experience (not observership) in the USA<\/li>\n<li>If not a citizen of the USA, UNC Hospitals only supports the J-1 visa<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong>Application Process<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Apply through the <a href=\"https:\/\/students-residents.aamc.org\/applying-residency\/applying-residencies-eras\/\">Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)<\/a>; we cannot review your application until all required materials are submitted<\/li>\n<li>Review of applications begins when ERAS goes live. All applicants will be notified of the status of their application through ERAS<\/li>\n<li>An interview request will be sent from our program once selected; all invitations to interview will be extended via ERAS<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong>Visiting Medical Students<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Fourth year medical students are welcome to contact the University of North Carolina School of Medicine to arrange a visiting student elective. Please contact Reneva Grimsley for additional questions at <a href=\"mailto:regrimsl@email.unc.edu\">mailto:regrimsl@email.unc.edu.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Based on availability, students may choose any pediatric or medicine rotation.
