Our fellows are exposed to all academic facets of Pediatric Hospital Medicine \u2013 including clinical research, quality improvement science, patient safety, medical operations, and medical education. With the guidance of a mentorship team and Scholarly Oversight Committee, each fellow chooses an area for their primary academic focus in which to acquire additional advanced skills. And complete a scholarly project culminating in publication and\/or presentation as a graduation requirement. Fellows receive all necessary support, mentorship, and resources during their two years in fellowship training.<\/p>\n
In addition, most fellows participate in additional activities separate from their primary project during fellowship such as developing clinical practice guidelines, patient safety and quality improvement activities, administrative committees, and other training or experiences tailored to their specific interests and career goals. These secondary projects frequently result in opportunities to present at local, regional, and national meetings, publish, or earn additional certifications (e.g. Lean Six Sigma certification, etc.).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
