Join the Children’s Research Institute monthly for dynamic sessions where CRI members, trainees, and the broader scientific community connect to explore cutting-edge research in child health. These seminars foster collaboration, spark new ideas, and highlight ongoing work in pediatric science.

About Our Speaker:

Dr. Bauserman’s research centers on improving the health of women and children in low-income countries. Specifically, her research focuses on improving infant malnutrition and understanding the perinatal effects of malaria in early pregnancy. She focuses much of her work in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where she co-leads the UNC-Kinshasa School of Public Health research partnership within the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Global Network for Women and Children’s Health Research. The Global Network is a multi-center, multi-national research group that includes 8 U.S. research sites partnered with 8 international research sites including the DRC, Kenya, Zambia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Guatemala.

What to Expect:

  • Talks by top researchers from UNC and beyond, with opportunities for collaboration.
  • Works-in-progress and career development reviews by early-career faculty and trainees.
  • Special events focused on CRI, NC Children’s, and Department of Pediatrics initiatives.
