In this role, she is responsible for the overall function of the MPS Center, patient advocacy work, and fundraising.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Having a son with MPS II (Hunter syndrome) herself, this is also a personal mission for Kim. Her son, Cole, was diagnosed when he was 2 \u00bd and has been in a clinical trial at UNC for the past ten years, so she has a unique perspective on the trial process. She frequently speaks as a rare disease advocate at conferences and events and serves as a mentor and resource for newly-diagnosed families.
