How Early Type 1 Diabetes Shapes the Developing Brain<\/a>\n                                <\/h4>                            <p>BRAINY-T1D is a nationwide effort aimed at understanding the earliest effects of Type 1 Diabetes in young children. UNC is one of eleven campuses participating in this NIH project. Dr. McSweeney received her Bachelor of Biomedical Science in 2015 from the University of Central Florida and then earned her DO from Campbell University in 2019. She completed her Pediatric Internship and Residency at the Joe DiMaggio Children\u2019s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, in 2020 and 2022 respectively. She then went on to her Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship at Harvard University\u2019s Boston Children\u2019s Hospital, where she completed training in 2025.
