Resident Physician Outpatient Clinical Opportunities<\/h2>\n

Continuity Clinic offers a unique educational model for resident physicians to see patients independently in a supportive environment under the guidance of a pediatric attending preceptor. Residents are responsible for all aspects of patient care.\u00a0 This fosters independent learning and teaches resident physicians the importance of taking ownership of acute care and well child care of their patients, while having the support and guidance of a faculty preceptor.\u00a0 This environment fosters independent learning while creating unique educational opportunities with each patient encounter that resident physicians discuss with their faculty preceptor.\u00a0 This precepting model allows for ongoing resident growth and independence in pediatric primary care over the course of their three years of residency while allowing for unique, in the moment, education on all facets of pediatric primary care.<\/p>\n

NRSA Primary Care Research Fellowship<\/h2>\n

The fellowship\u2018s goal is to train primary care physicians<\/strong> for academic careers that emphasize research. The two-to three-year fellowship, through the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at UNC, provides participants with the knowledge, skills and experience to pursue an individual research program. Fellows establish a research foundation through course work in the various departments of UNC\u2019s Gillings School of Global Public Health<\/a> and seminars in the School of Medicine\u2019s NC TraCS Translational and Clinical Research Curriculum<\/a>, and reinforced through fellows\u2019 research projects, weekly works-in-progress seminars, and mentoring by clinical and research faculty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
