In order to enhance the professional development of Med-Peds, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine residents who are interested in pursuing global health careers, a Global Health Pathway was established and welcomed its first cohort in 2020. The Pathway includes four key components: mentorship, didactic curriculum, clinical experiences, and scholarship. Residents will receive a Distinction in Global Health at the completion of residency training.\u00a0 More information is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/pediatrics\/education\/medpedsres\/program-overview\/global-health-pathway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pediatric Education Global Health Pathway page.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Residents apply to the Pathway in fall of their Intern year to facilitate second year scheduling of clinical electives. Applications to the Pathway open on<strong> November 1<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSf4l8oqV5wTIaDkCxiRN8VzYG__mCu71TAtZWKDdpYerw1qmg\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Application and instructions can be found here.\u00a0<\/a> <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Applications are due on <strong>December 15<\/strong>. Residents will be notified of their acceptance in early January.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class = \"alert alert-info  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<h3>The UNC Pediatric Global Health team has developed a fund to promote scholarship for our GH learners!<\/h3>\n<p>Any learner (medical student, resident, or fellow) who is engaged in pediatric global health work may apply for a maximum of $1000 per year, to be used toward conference attendance for presentations, manuscript publications, or other support of their scholarly work. The funds will not be used toward travel.
