{"id":28169,"date":"2021-04-14T13:35:32","date_gmt":"2021-04-14T17:35:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/pediatrics\/?page_id=28169"},"modified":"2021-04-25T20:51:56","modified_gmt":"2021-04-26T00:51:56","slug":"mentoring-resources","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/pediatrics\/faculty-development\/faculty-mentoring-program\/mentoring-resources\/","title":{"rendered":"Mentoring Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a faculty mentor, there are many resources and activities at your disposal to foster a strong relationship with your junior faculty member.<\/p>\n<h2>Faculty Mentoring Committee Activity<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The faculty member will meet with the entire mentoring committee a minimum of once annually (more often as needed).<\/li>\n<li>One member of the committee will be designated as the primary mentor<b>\u00a0<\/b>and will be responsible for meeting regularly with the faculty member. The frequency of these meetings will vary according to the faculty member\u2019s needs and mission focus.<\/li>\n<li>The faculty member will provide the mentoring group with both short-term and long-term goals on an annual basis. The committee will be expected to provide appropriate feedback via the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/pediatrics\/fd_faculty-mentoring-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mentoring Committee Report Form.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Provide Written Feedback<\/h2>\n<p>The faculty member will receive written feedback after each committee meeting. The faculty member should provide a copy of the report to the Division Chief\u00a0<i>and\u00a0<\/i>the Mentoring Program Coordinator.
