Lohr Research Award for her proposal titled \u201cExploring the Effect of a Clinic-Based Childhood Literacy Promotion Program among Medicaid-Covered Newborns at a Residency Continuity Clinic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project plans to study the impact of a literacy program being introduced in June 2024 on infants and families receiving Medicaid and enrolled in UNC Pediatric Continuity Clinic. The main study aim is to measure reported days\/week with reading to study infants, comparing the pre- and post-intervention cohorts, with pre-intervention cohort described retrospectively. The study also aims to describe the cognitive environment of the infants in the post-intervention group, as measured by caregiver survey using the STIM-Q questionnaire.<\/p>\n<p>Reviewers described this as a &#8220;really well-designed project with high potential for impact in the field of general pediatric research.
