Plotkin Lectureship Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Collazo-Roman earned her medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University and a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed her clinical training at St. Louis University\/Cardinal Glennon Children\u2019s Hospital. Her passion for pediatric infectious disease research is rooted in a strong commitment to addressing health inequities that affect children, some of the world\u2019s most vulnerable populations. Her current research centers on dengue, a neglected tropical disease with significant pediatric morbidity. She investigates both the natural and vaccine-induced immune responses to dengue, an area of active inquiry and debate within the scientific and medical communities.<\/p>\n<p>The Stanley A. Plotkin Lectureship Award is one of the highest honors presented by PIDS, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the fields of vaccinology and pediatric infectious diseases. Named in honor of Dr. Stanley A. Plotkin, a pioneering figure in vaccine development, the award celebrates innovation, leadership, and dedication to improving child health worldwide.
