Roth delivered the Prize Lecture, “Synthethic and Chemical Neurobiology,” at Harvard University on Oct.10 upon receiving the award.

Dr. Roth delivers his Prize Lecture titled, “”Synthethic and Chemical Neurobiology” at Harvard University October 10.

Bryan Roth, MD, PhD, the Michael J. Hooker Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology, was awarded the Frank H. Westheimer Prize from the Harvard Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology for his extensive publications, mentorship and research that focuses on “trying to understand how central nervous system drugs affect the brain’s neurons. The goal is to investigate existing treatments in order to find new treatments and mitigate side effects, particularly for such problems as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder and eating disorders.”

“The Frank H. Westheimer Prize Lecture was established in 2002 by the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University in recognition of Professor Westheimer’s major contributions to organic chemistry.”
