We welcomed 60 STAR (Scientific Training and Research) program students to Pharmacology so they could see what it’s like to be in a research lab and to meet real scientists!

Pharmacology (PHCO) and Genetics (GNET) teams had a lot of fun battling it out for the trophy for the very first Battle of the Science Stars on June 13. Genetics battled hard, but in the end, PHCO won the event.
Dr. Gary L. Johnson, Kenan Distinguished Professor and former chair of the Department of Pharmacology retired at the end of May after 16 years with the department, 13 of which he was the Department Chair.
Pharmacology held its annual Research Retreat March 22 in the Friday Center. It was a day full of lots of great science! Thanks to all who participated!
