Dr. Eric Zimmerman, Pharmacokineticist in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at PPD

Dr. Eric Zimmerman, an alumnus of the Pharmacology Graduate Program and former member of the Graves Lab, spoke at a Lab to LIfe Seminar about his current position and the path that led him to it on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016.

Dr. Zimmerman received his PhD from the Department of Pharmacology at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2011. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, where his work focused on translational pharmacology of tyrosine kinase inhibitors for the treatment of acute myelogenous leukemia.

Dr. Zimmerman is currently a pharmacokineticist in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at PPD. He provides pharmacokinetic and clinical pharmacology services for numerous phase 1-4 clinical trials, including review and writing clinical trial protocols, statistical analysis plans, and clinical study reports, conducting non-compartmental and compartmental pharmacokinetic analyses, and consulting services for drug development programs in order to integrate biopharmaceutics, clinical research, bioanalytical services, pharmacokinetics, and statistics.
