Michelle S. Itano, PhD

Director of the Neuroscience and Microscopy Core

She develops and applies advanced microscopy techniques, cell biological applications, and quantitative image analysis to uncover novel spatial and dynamic relationships between proteins, ncRNAs, and viral RNA genomes.

In 2019, Dr. Itano was named in the first cohort of the Chan Zuckerberg initiative’s Imaging Scientists to support the development of better tools and increased collaboration between optical engineers and biomedical researchers.
