Channing Der, PhD, along with Pharmacology department colleagues Kirsten Bryant, PhD and Adrienne Cox, PhD, have spent years studying RAS and KRAS, key molecular drivers of pancreatic cancer, helping lay the foundation for new therapies that target these proteins. Recent clinical results with the KRAS inhibitor daraxonrasib have shown remarkable promise, reducing the risk of death by 60% and nearly doubling survival compared with chemotherapy alone in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer.
