UNC Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation’s outpatient care has moved to a new location in the Chapel Hill Community, with easier reach!

The UNC Center for Rehabilitation Care (CRC) is located at 1807 N. Fordham Blvd., Chapel Hill, NC, 27514 (in the former Borders Building).

At the CRC, personalized treatment remains our promise to you. Our comprehensive and interdisciplinary services for adults and children are now closer and more accessible, with free parking for all patients.

Our preeminent rehabilitation team of physiatrists (physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians) and neuropsychologists manage care of each patient, and can refer patients to therapists in the same building (occupational, physical and speech), to help improve your function and quality of life – under the same roof.

Chapel Hill Amenities

Amenities include a full size kitchen, bathroom with tub and shower, as well as a living room. Part of our Day Rehabilitation Program, these home-like spaces comfortably accommodate patients coming to the CRC for multiple visit needs including medical, therapeutic and adaptive bracing through Atlantic Prosthetics and Orthotics, and help patients return to activities of daily living.

Other amenities include specialized driving and cognitive assessments utilizing a state of the art driving simulator; vestibular rehabilitation to improve balance; men’s and women’s pelvic health programming; pediatric care including splinting and bracing as well as sensory integration programs.

Lowes Home Improvement partnered with the CRC to develop and build an outdoor “Challenge Course” made of various surface materials found throughout different areas of the state, to safely train patients in techniques that will allow for safe ambulation in their surroundings.

Additionally, the Carolina Care at Home store at the CRC is a one-stop shop for all of a patients’ needs including adaptive equipment, over-the-counter medications, food and drink and novelty items including t-shirts, greeting cards and other small convenience items.
