UNC Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation’s Research Day took place on Thursday, June 16th in the Medical Biomolecular Research Building (MBRB).

William Bockenek, MD, Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, gave the Patricia C. Gregory, MD Memorial Lecture.

Dr. Bockenek’s lecture, “Achieving the Triple Aim of Rehabilitation,” was followed by presentations from the graduating PM&R residents and the Program on Integrative Medicine’s T-32 fellows.

Held annually in June, this keynote lecture honors Patricia C. Gregory, MD, who proudly served as a Simmons Scholar and assistant professor at UNC PM&R from 2005 until her untimely passing in 2010. Dr. Gregory developed a love and passion for research in health disparities, particularly in the areas of stroke prevention and rehabilitation, telemedicine, and geriatric rehabilitation.
