Program & Goals<\/h2>\n

The department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation offers comprehensive care to individuals with cerebral palsy<\/a> and spina bifida<\/a>, with the goal of maximizing function and quality of life.<\/p>\n

Integrated Care Model<\/h2>\n

Our physiatrists develop and oversee an individualized care plan for each patient which is implemented by our team of rehabilitation professionals. Our services are available to patients with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy or spina bifida from infancy and throughout adult life.<\/p>\n

We provide ongoing rehabilitation care for patients with neurological conditions through education, research and advocacy in the UNC PM&R Outpatient Clinic<\/a> and community outreach programs.<\/p>\n

Our faculty members also provide spasticity management<\/a>, botulinum toxin and joint injections, nerve conduction studies<\/a>, electomyography studies (EMGs<\/a>), as well as neuropsychological and psychological evaluation and treatment.<\/p>\n
