Center Advisory Board

The UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health Advisory Board was created to support the mission of the Center by advising and assisting in the development of the overall strategy for the Center. The Board will serve as an advocate for Center programs to increase their visibility internally and externally and to assist in the Center's fundraising efforts. Founded in 2014, the Board is voluntary.

Aaron Nelson, Chair

Aaron Nelson (Advisory Board)


Aaron Nelson has been president and CEO of the Chapel Hill-Carboro Chamber of Commerce since 2001, executive director of the Chamber’s charitable economic and community development affiliate since its creation in 2004, and is co-chair of the national Chambers for Innovation and Clean Energy, and co-founder of the national Institute for Sustainable Development.  A UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, he was student body president, and his first job was special assistant to the late Chancellor Michael Hooker.


 



Lee Bowman

Lee Bowman is the project manager for Briar Chapel, a master-planned development in Chapel Hill (Chatham County).  In 2005, he began working for the project’s developer, Newland Communities, and also oversaw the completion of another local master-planned development, Churton Grove in Hillsborough.  Previously, Bowman was director of operations at Pinehurst Resort and managed several national golf championships including the 1999 and 2005 U.S. Men’s Open ChampionshipsA UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, Bowman lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and two daughters.

 

 



Matthew Gilmore


Matthew Gilmore is a data science manager at Red Hat leading the Global Finance Analytics COE. Responsible for the data science team supporting the sales and finance organizations, he leads a talented group focused on using data to improve sales strategy and execution. Since joining Red Hat, he has helped the company integrate advanced analytics into many business areas including forecasting, customer segmentation, and world-wide planning. He holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science and a masters in analytics from North Carolina State University.



Tracey  Himmel

Tracey Himmel  is a business development consultant for WCHL's chapelboro and  has more than 20 years of business development experience,  Previously, she was business development manager for the Chapel Hill /Carrboro Chamber of Commerce and, previously, served as assistant regional manager at ReliaStar Life Insurance (now Voya.) She has held various community leadership roles and currently volunteers with the Chapel Hill Service League and Bootstrap, an organization that supports literacy in the Triangle. Himmel, a graduate of Boston College, and lives with her family in Chapel Hill.




Cornel Lamb (Advisory Board)


Cornell Lamb lll, BS, captain in the Carrboro Police Department, is currently the administrative division commander. He has been in law enforcement for 20 years, with 17 of those years at the Carrboro Police Department. A graduate of North Carolina Central University, he also has diplomas from the FBI Academy and the North Carolina Justice Academy Management Development Program. Lambserved in United States Army and was member of the 82nd Airborne. He is also a volunteer assistant football coach at Chapel Hill High School.

 



Karen Lamont   (final with edits)


Karen Lamont, vice president,  Kalos  Golf, Chapel Hill N.C., a golf tour operator offering golf cruises and private jet tours around the world. A community leader, she was extensively involved with the launch of the Trinity School, served as co-chair of the Young Life Durham/Chapel Hill Committee and is a former member of the Learning Ally Board. She was also involved with starting  All Saints Church in  Durham /Chapel Hill. She serves on the UNC Medicine Campaign Steering Committee. Lamont  and her husband Jim moved to North Carolina in 1983; they have three children, one of whom has special needs and resides at home. Karen received a bachelor's degree in psychology from McDaniel College.




Laurie Paolicelli is executive director for the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau, a position she has held since 2005. Laurie has worked with convention and visitor bureaus for 25 years, having served in leadership roles in Houston, Texas and Palm Springs, Calif.  Paolicelli is a member of several professional associations, including East Chapel Hill Rotary, Triangle Area Hotel Motel Association and Destination Management Association International.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from the University Wisconsin-Superior and a graduate certificate in technology in marketing from UNC-Chapel Hill.  She has one daughter, Cara, who works in recreational therapy at the Rocky Mountain MS Center in Denver.

 

MANMOHAN SIHRA  Advisory BoardManmohan Sihra, MS, is a senior executive from the pharmaceutical industry with more than 35 years of experience and is currently president of M SIHRA CONSULTING INC. He holds both undergraduate and masters degrees in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi India. He has served as a volunteer leader and a commissioner for training with the Boy Scouts of America. Having a great interest in teaching and the arts, Sihra has taught undergraduate and postgraduate levels in engineering and management, and been actively involved in photography, painting, sculpture and poetry activities. He lives in Cary.



 

Lori Taylor Advisory BoardLori Taylor CFP®, is senior vice president and Wealth Management Advisor, Fifth Third Bank Private Bank, works with individuals and families to achieve their financial goals.  She has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, including commercial banking, retail, wealth management and family office roles.  She graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and lives with her husband and son in Cary.

                                                              

 




Laurie Paolicelli



 

Michael Williams  Advisory Board


Michael Williams, is  a senior sales executive with a long record of consistently exceeding sales goals in the pharmaceutical industry. His 30-year career with GlaxoSmithKline, culminated in a position as area vice president for medical groups. He then moved to Sanofi Pharmaceuticals as the vice president of sales for hospitals and long-term care accounts. He is the president and managing partner at Facio Consulting Group and Associates, which focuses on business and sales consulting for small, midsize and large biopharmaceutical clients. He is a graduate of Xavier University and received a Transformational Leadership certification from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
