If your relative lives with you, it can be helpful if there is a clear structure to every day. We all benefit from structure in our lives, and typically we find structure through work or school activities. In the absence of these activities, it can still be helpful to have a regular routine-arising at the same time each day, and keeping to the same daily and weekly schedule as much as possible. If your relative lives apart from you, but you are still frequently involved, it may help to have a regular schedule of visits and activities, instead of just dropping in anytime.
