Our philosophy has always been treating the “whole” person.

We believe in providing services for both mental and physical wellness. As such we understand how difficult the current situation is to most of our clientele. Many of the individuals we serve find it difficult to receive the care they need or even get basic necessities. In response to our clients’ needs, the Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health has created several COVID-19 Outreach Programs to provide the needed services that our clients have come to expect for us.
For questions about the Outreach Programs please contact Thava Mahadevan.

Heat and Eat MealsHeat and Eat Meals

Easy to heat and eat meals are prepared by local restaurants delivered weekly by our team members. Clients, with at least 2 health risk factors, will receive nutritional meals for the next 10 weeks so that they can avoid crowded food pantries and soup kitchens. In addition, they will also receive fresh fruits and vegetables as available from the Farm at Penny Lane.

Clients will receive a prepaid smart phone with needed apps loaded and unlimited data for 6 months. This will ensure service continuity and connection to the their psychiatry team to avoid any crisis or visits to the ER, as well as remotely participate in wellness activities like WRAP groups and AA meetings.

Wake Food PantryFood Pantry

A centralized pantry is set up to with non-perishable food and other essential items including personal hygiene products that can be easily accessible for clinicians and case managers to pick up and deliver to clients at risk.

Vegetables from the Farm at Penny LaneThe Farm Online

Wellness Wednesday is a collection of weekly group-based activities that include affordable cooking, developing social wellness skills and yoga. In Horticulture Therapy clients will receive a vegetable plant at their residence via no-contact delivery to take care of. Our team will provide technical support and also use the plant as a way to discuss therapeutic topics. For questions about the programs please contact Matt Ballard.

These Outreach programs are 100% gift funded by the community. We would greatly appreciate any support you could provide to help us serve our clients in your area. Please donate to our “Farm at Penny Lane” donation page to assist with COVID-19 relief and outreach programs. Thank you.
