DESCRIPTION:The UNC Institute for Best Practices is hosting a FREE Disclosure Training for ACT and IPS Teams in North Carolina.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nThe UNC Institute for Best Practices is hosting a FREE Disclosure Webinar for IPS Teams (Team Leads\, Employment Specialists\, and Employment Peer Mentors) and ACT Teams (Employment Specialists and Team Leads) on October 27th\, 2020 from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm. \nDisclosure is a critical component in the discussion for people returning to work and/or school. It is important that as service providers\, we assist people in making informed decisions as it relates to disclosure. This training will briefly review the American’s with Disabilities Act and how this protects the rights of individuals with disabilities. We will discuss and review the meaning of disclosure and the potential pros and cons of sharing information to employers and/or schools. We will evaluate the specifics of who\, what\, when\, where\, and how disclosure should be conducted to ensure that people’s preferences are honored. \nIf you have any questions and/or need any accommodations\, please email melissa_dehaven@med.unc.edu \nWe look forward to seeing you there!
