NC Exceptional Practice ACT Teams

North Carolina certifies ACT teams as meeting an exceptional practice level with a rating of 4.3 or higher on the Tool for Measurement of Assertive Community Treatment (TMACT). This aligns with the NC ACT service definition, which mandates that each ACT team complete regular fidelity reviews. Certifications are updated with every TMACT review a team finishes.

This document issued by the UNC Institute for Best Practices shows NC ACT Teams that achieved Exceptional Practice level during their most recent TMACT review. Due to potentially lengthy intervals between reviews for NC ACT Teams maintaining exceptional practice level, we encourage all interested parties to remember that TMACT reviews represent a point-in-time rating. Since the last review, the fidelity of ACT Teams may have been influenced by various factors (new Team Leads, ACT staff turnover, changes in agency policies, drift from best practices, etc.).

We recognize the hard work, training, and high level of supervision required for teams to achieve exceptional practice. The UNC Institute for Best Practices emphasizes not only the importance of helping teams reach this standard of practice but also supporting them in maintaining exceptional practice.
