At the Center for Excellence, we take the same multi-faceted approach to training tomorrow&#8217;s service providers.<\/p>\n<p>Our in-house training opportunities are designed for individuals who want to specialize in a recovery-oriented, multidisciplinary team process for addressing psychotic disorders in a community setting.<\/p>\n<p>Medical school faculty members who provide clinical supervision in STEP are experts in schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, with varied research interests. Trainees are closely involved with supervising clinicians, and our attending psychiatrists serve as clinical team leaders.<\/p>\n<p>During their time at the Center, students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend treatment team meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Discuss articles on both the foundations and the cutting edge of psychopharmacological and psychosocial approaches to treatment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Observe and practice a variety of clinical modalities in the clinic and in community settings<\/li>\n<li>Undertake projects in the policy and research realm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We believe that interdisciplinary care is the most effective way to treat people with mental illness.
