Wake STEP has partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wake.gov\/departments-government\/housing-affordability-community-revitalization\">Wake County\u2019s Department of Housing Affordability and Community Revitalization\u2019s Permanent Housing and Supportive Services Division<\/a> (PHSS). The PHSS aims to provide safe, clean, affordable housing and comprehensive wrap-around services to some of Wake County\u2019s most vulnerable citizens. Using the Housing First model, the division currently serves ~ 300 households affected by homelessness, severe mental illness, substance use disorders, HV\/AIDS, chronic or acute health conditions, or other disabling conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Drs. Ted Zarzar and Brenna Stanczyk now provide psychiatric services to about 60 clients served by PHSS. Services are currently being delivered virtually but will soon be delivered at the Cornerstone Center and Oak City Multiservice Centers, where clients access other services like case management, crisis intervention, employment counseling, identification, food, clothing, transportation, financial assistance, mail, disability services, Veteran\u2019s resources, and legal services.<\/p>\n<p>The CECMH is thrilled that Dr. Zarzar and Dr. Stanczyk are leading this new initiative to serve Wake County residents in the community!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health has taken another step towards comprehensive care in Wake County.
