It has been an exciting fall here at the Center.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve just celebrated our second No Limits gala, and it was a great success. More than 200 people attended our November celebration. I want to give a special thanks to Aaron Nelson, head of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce and chair of the Center\u2019s advisory board, who hosted a spirited and entertaining evening for our gala guests.<\/p>\n

In November, we were honored to have Congressman David Price visit us at our Carr Mill offices and to tour our UNC Farm at Penny Lane.<\/p>\n

Diana Perkins, MD, MPH, head of our UNC Outreach and Support Intervention Services (OASIS), is preparing to move the new UNC Wake OASIS office in January to a larger space on Glenwood Ave. Wake OASIS opened earlier in the year in a suite with other Center clinics on Falstaff.<\/p>\n

In this issue, you\u2019ll read about Diana Perkins\u2019 recent research that was publicized nationally. The amazing Eure Family\u2014Shelley Eure Belk, Van Eure, and her husband Steve Thanhauser\u2014received the Center\u2019s Community Advocacy Award for their work with the Foundation of Hope for Research & Treatment of Mental Illness. The Dog Parade Art Exhibit fundraiser, supported by our Brushes with Life artists, is making the rounds in the Triangle.<\/p>\n

As the holidays approach, I am grateful for the generous support of our staff, advisory board and the community.<\/p>\n
