We have had a very busy and exciting spring. We recently received our three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), following an extensive survey of our programs. Thanks to Beth Rossi and Thava Mahadevan for their leadership in accomplishing this very important goal.<\/p>\n

Our UNC PAWS program has received tremendous media coverage as part of a $50,000 fundraising campaign to keep our dog-training program viable. At a time when funding resources for these important recovery programs depend on donations, we are grateful for the more than 460 individuals who donated more than $55,000.<\/p>\n

I am honored to welcome Karen Lamont to our advisory board. Karen brings a great deal of valuable community service and fundraising experience to our group.<\/p>\n

The Center continues to help improve mental health treatment beyond our local communities in the Triangle. In this issue, you will also read about our two annual spring symposiums that attract mental health professionals from around the state. Our highly rated ACT teams are providing shadowing training for several teams from North Carolina and Virginia.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Gary Cuddeback who received a UNC Office of the Provost Engaged Scholarship Award and to Evette Clement who received a UNC Employee Forum Award!<\/p>\n

In closing, mark your calendar for November 2 for our Fourth Annual No Limits Gala. I look forward to seeing you there.<\/p>\n
