Claudia Driver, MA, LMFT, clinical director and family therapist at Wake Encompass, was named clinical director for the UNC STEP (Schizophrenia Treatment and Evaluation Program) Clinic at Carr Mill in May. She continues to manage both clinics as she transitions to the Carr Mill Clinic.<\/p>\n

Claudia Driver, MA, LMFT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\u201cClaudia brings a wealth of experience in direct provision of client services as well as supervision of other clinicians,” said Austin Hall, MD, medical director at the Center.<\/p>\n

\u201cFurther, she has experience in developing a level of care utilization system that will help us better assure we are targeting our resources to meet those most in need. I am very enthusiastic about these and other innovations that I anticipate Claudia will bring to Carr Mill STEP.”<\/p>\n

At Carr Mill, her responsibilities will include supervising therapist clinicians, assisting with the development of clinical policies, leading both administrative and treatment meetings, and partnering with other Center programs. Driver\u2019s clinical responsibilities include individual therapy and family therapy for those patients diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.<\/p>\n

Driver joined the Center in November 2017. Previously, she worked in Colorado Springs, Colo. as a program manager for AspenPointe, Community Mental Health Center.<\/p>\n

She received an undergraduate degree in social sciences and masters in psychology\/marriage and family therapy from Chapman University in Orange, Calif.<\/p>\n

Her clinical interests include the treatment of trauma and the impact on SPMI recovery, co-occurring substance abuse disorders, and family therapy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
