It was a busy and exciting spring. Both our STEP and Community Psychiatrists\u2019 Leadership symposiums were great successes. We were pleased to host our inaugural donors\u2019 appreciation lunch in May.<\/p>\n

Congratulations to Thava Mahadevan, our operations director, who recently received Wake County NAMI\u2019s inaugural Ann & Gerry Akland Person of Passion Award. You can read more about Thava\u2019s recognition in this issue of our summer newsletter.<\/p>\n

Our Wake offices welcomed two psychiatrists in recent weeks; Rebecca Bottoms, MD, is the new medical director at the Wake STEP Clinic and Mindy Asbury, MD, PhD, joined the Wake ACT team. These new physicians will allow us to better serve patients in Wake County.<\/p>\n

We also welcome Matt Ballard, the manager of the UNC Farm at Penny Lane. Claudia Driver, our clinical director at Wake Encompass, will take on an expanding clinical director\u2019s role as she transitions to the STEP Clinic at Carr Mill.<\/p>\n

I want to extend a special thanks to Aaron Nelson, the founding chair of our Advisory Board, who enthusiastically provided leadership for nearly five years and \u00a0has recently stepped down.<\/p>\n

Michael Williams,\u00a0 a board member since 2015, \u00a0has graciously agreed to serve as chair of our advisory board.. It is a pleasure to have Michael in this leadership role.<\/p>\n

I appreciate the support of our staff, board, donors and patients. We look forward to seeing you November 7th at our Sixth Annual No Limits Gala.<\/p>\n
