We are pleased to welcome our new chair of psychiatry, Samantha Meltzer-Brody, MD, MPH, who officially took the role October 1. Many of you know Samantha from her leadership in our Department of Psychiatry, the School of Medicine as well as her research and international presence.<\/p>\n
Our Sixth Annual No Limits Gala fundraiser, held November 7 at the Carolina Club on the UNC campus was a great success. It was a pleasure to present our advocacy award to Representative Verla Insko for her years of extraordinary legislative efforts on behalf of mental health.<\/p>\n
We are thrilled to be the clinical partner in the Tiny Homes Village at the Farm at Penny Lane in Chatham County, which will create 15 homes for veterans and other individuals with serious mental illness. Our partner, the UNC School of Social Work has taken the lead in securing a \u00a0grant from the Oaks Foundation, which allowed us to break ground for this important project.<\/p>\n
Congratulations to Hillary Jackson Little and the IPS team who recently received an exemplary fidelity score and the highest score for any team in the State of North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Additionally, you can learn more about our new psychiatrists in Wake County: Rachel Bottom, MD, and Melinda \u201cMindy\u201d Asbury, MD, PhD.<\/p>\n
