Since February 2022, MHEP hosted a total of 16 monthly discussion groups (Mental Health Equity for All Lunch and Learn Series, aka MHEALLS) around various issues pertinent to achieving health equity for all people.

Mental Health Equity Track (MHET) Psychiatry residents have led the discussions and there has been an increasing presence of Psychiatry faculty and staff engaging during these sessions.

This series has expanded to non-clinical staff members who engage in mental health research or clinical teams. This is in alignment with MHEP’s goal to support a more inclusive environment for all who work to provide care in some capacity to the communities we serve.

Below are example of topics covered:

  • Body size bias
  • Carceral system and mental health equity
  • Child welfare system and mental health equity
  • Intersection of mental health and disability
