Mental Health Equity for All Lunch and Learn Series (MHEALLS)
From February 2022 to April 2024, MHEP hosted a total of 16 monthly discussion groups (Mental Health Equity for All Lunch and Learn Series, aka MHEALLS) around various issues pertinent to achieving health equity for all people.
Mental Health Equity Track (MHET) Psychiatry residents have led the discussions and there has been an increasing presence of Psychiatry faculty and staff engaging during these sessions.
This series has expanded to non-clinical staff members who engage in mental health research or clinical teams. This is in alignment with MHEP’s goal to support a more inclusive environment for all who work to provide care in some capacity to the communities we serve.

Origins Movie and Caste Discussion
The MHEP hosted a free movie screening of Origin on February 28, 2024 at AMC Southpoint for 25 Psychiatry faculty, staff, and trainees.
The film focused on America’s racial caste system and attendees also received a copy of Caste: The Origin of Our Discontents, the book that the film is based on.
Following the movie screening, Dr. Anthony Kulukulualani facilitated a hybrid discussion on the origin and history of caste systems in different societies and tangible action steps that can be taken to address the modern-day mental health impacts of a caste system.
