Summary Statement:
Dr. Scheidler is an Assistant Professor at UNC with an appointment in the Department of Psychiatry. Clinically, he focuses on providing psychiatric care for patients with medical and/or surgical illness in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. He serves as an attending physician for the consultation-liaison psychiatry service at both UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC-Hillsborough, serving as the service director for the latter. He serves as Training Director for the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at UNC. He also works directly to support and promote the mental health needs of other physicians in addition to the promotion of wellness initiatives as Associate Director for UNC’s Taking Care of Our Own Program. He is board certified in both General Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
