Summary Statement:

Dr. Kirby specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, and trains and supervises students and professionals in individual and couple therapy using these treatment approaches. Dr. Kirby has participated in the development and evaluation of a number of relationship intervention programs from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, with a primary focus around individual issues including anorexia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, emotion dysregulation, and breast cancer. She is a co-director of the UCAN (Uniting Couples in the Treatment of Anorexia Nerovsa) and UNITE (Uniting Couples in the Treatment of Eating Disorders) research studies, in which she oversees the development of treatment materials, and the implementation of couple therapy for eating disorders. She also maintains an active private practice with individuals and couples.
