Summary Statement:

Dr. Charguia is a trained child and adolescent psychiatrist. She is interested in working with children, adolescents and adults as well as in resident and medical student education. Dr. Charguia also works directly to support and promote the mental health needs of other physicians in addition to the promotion of wellness initiatives, in her role as Associate Director of the “Taking Care of Our Own” program at UNC. Dr. Charguia’s primary clinical interests revolve around mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders as well as providing direct supportive and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Dr. Charguia works as an inpatient attending primarily on our inpatient child and adolescent units, and on occasion will also work on our additional inpatient eating disorder, peripartum and adult psychotic disorder units. Dr. Charguia also is a supervising attending in our UNC outpatient child clinic as well as balances her outpatient practice, where she will see an age range of primarily children, adolescents and young adults.
