The UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders is an internationally recognized leader in the treatment of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. We are located at UNC Hospitals in the Department of Psychiatry. We offer evaluations, consultations, and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with eating disorders.
Led by our clinical director, Dr. Stephanie Zerwas, our treatment team includes psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, recreational therapists, and dietitians.
Eating disorders are complicated and often require medical monitoring. One of the greatest strengths of our program is the integration with UNC Hospitals and UNC School of Medicine. We work collaboratively with other medical specialties to integrate physical and psychological therapy and to deliver personalized treatment.
Our interventions are guided by the scientific evidence and include family-based therapy (FBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). But our ultimate goal is to help you throughout your recovery journey.
You can recover from an eating disorder and we can help.
